Our 2016 red wines continue to ring a lot of bells, most recently at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, where our 2016 Zinfandel won Best of Class while our 2016 Merlot also won a gold medal.

This all goes back to the 2016 growing season, which was marked by steady weather and small yields, producing fruit with extraordinary evenness and concentration. The result: some of our finest wines to date.

The Merlot and Zinfandel from the 2016 vintage have also earned scores of 90 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. The Zinfandel was rated 94 points in The Tasting Panel, and our 2016 Renegade red blend was named Top Region wine at the Houston Uncorked! International Wine Competition. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, meanwhile, has earned 90 points from both Wine Enthusiast and Jeb Dunnuck.

Needless to say, the results are in on our 2016 wines, and they are worth tracking down here at our Paso Robles tasting room or wherever you can find Ancient Peaks wines!
