Let’s Taco Bout Merlot

Take your Taco Tuesday to the next level with the best carne asada tacos and pair it with the new 2021 Merlot! The supple tannins and energetic acidity will add extra depth to your dish.


  • 2 lbs. skirt steak, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper


  • In a large glass baking dish whisk together all of the marinade ingredients until combined. Add skirt steak in a single layer, turning to coat with marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but no longer than 8 hours (longer will begin to break down the meat).
  • When you’re ready to grill: preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Grill steaks for 7 to 10 minutes per side, turning once for medium-rare. Remove steaks and allow to rest for 5 minutes. If you do not have a grill, this can be done on a cast iron skillet.
  • Slice thinly across the grain and serve.
